Air Layering

Many tropical houseplants can be propagated using the air layering technique.

In air layering, you will wrap the stem with damp long-fiber sphagnum mossCamera icon. This moss initially repels water, so the day before you air layer,
soakCamera icon a small amount of the sphagnum moss in warm water.

To air layer a plant, you will prepare a stem, wound it, then wrap it with damp sphagnum moss. New roots will grow into the damp moss.
