Third National New Crops Symposium Planned for 1995
Plans for the Third National New Crops Symposium to be held in the fall
of 1995 in Indianapolis are underway. The third conference organized by the
Indiana Center for New Crops and Plant Products will emphasize the technical
aspects of new crops and new uses. The theme of the conference will be New
Crops, New Uses, New Technologies. Among the cosponsors of the symposium
will be The American Association of Industrial Crops, the New Uses Council,
Alternative Agricultural Research and Commercialization Center, the Center for
Alternative Plant and Animal Products-University of Missouri, Impact
Center-Washington State University, Kansas' Alternative Use Programs, and
the United States Department of Agriculture and the Cooperative States Research
Service. The two previous symposia held in Indianapolis in 1988 and 1991 have
resulted in two books: Advances in New Crops (1990) published by Timber
press and New Crops (1993) published by Wiley Press. For more
