The Horticulture Club met at 7 pm September 30, 2006 in Hort.
117. The foragers provided the club with Subway sandwiches. The meeting started
off by discussing old and new business.
For old business we discussed fall trip. It will cost $80 and the money will
need to be paid in full before the trip. Money can be dropped off in the club
mail box in the main office. Steve will e-mail everyone that is attending the
trip and itinerary. Service projects were discussed we will be doing the LUM
dinner again this year. We will also be helping Mary in the gardens to prepare
for the new garden installation.
For new business we voted on hoodie colors, which will be charcoal gray and
we will be voting on designs at the next meeting. For the meeting activity we
invited Antony Matas from the Hortecus program, he is from T.E.I. of Crete;
Ben Hartwig also from the Hortecus program, he is from Germany University of
Hanover. They talked to us about being an exchange student and what it is like
at their Universities back at home. We also had Matt Yarian talk about his summer
internship at Bailey Nursery and Steve Myers and Jess Ponsford talk about the
study abroad trip to England. The next meeting will be October 4, 2006 at 7
pm in Hort. 117. We will be having a carry in dinner and we will pot up our
houseplants that we propagated.
