How can I build a pond?

Ponds can be simple to create. The simplest way to create a nice looking pond is to go to your local hardware store and purchase a pre-formed pond liner. Then place it in the ground leveled, and put your plants and mulch around it to create a nice scenic look. To build a pond like we have in the center of the landscape, it takes a little more work, but can be done very easily. Get some bricks and stone from a masonry or landscape shop. Place the bricks in a square pattern with bricks or squared stone of your choice, but make sure your structure is stable. Usually the wavy bricks work the best since they fit together the best. Next place some sand around the edges inside the brick structure to give some support and shape to the pond from the inside. The sand will also protect the liner. After you do all that, you can place in a pond liner and over lap the liner over the top of the brick formation, and then place a layer of brick or stone over the pond liner. To build a fountain like the one in the center of our pond, all you have to do is set up a brick foundation with a couple gaps in it to let water through, then build up your fountain. Place a pump in the center of the brick fountain, which you can pick up from a hardware store. Then with a couple fittings and a pvc pipe, you can create a fountain the looks great in the center of your pond, and very simple to construct.
