The Purdue Horticulture Club meet at 7:00 P.M. on October 4,
2006 in Hort. 117. The meeting began with a carry in dinner organized by the
foragers. Old and New business was discussed.
For old business we talked about fall trip. Tonight was the last night that
you could sign up to go. Sweetest day was discussed, the club decided to sell
roses and donate all of the proceeds to a Children’s Hospital. A sign
up sheet was also passed around to sign up to help with the rose sale. The service
project to help Mary in the gardens has been set for Saturday, November 11th.
The time will be confirmed at a later date. We will be making dinner at LUM
on Sunday, November 19th. We will have a sign up sheet for those who would like
to volunteer at a later date. The Ag Council hog roast will be October 19th
from 6-8 p.m. Also Tracie Egger is looking for volunteers for the National FFA
convention, if you are interested you can contact her for more information.
We also voted on hoodie designs. Everyone that would like a hoodie needs to
be sure to sign the list so Mark can get the order placed soon.
For new business we talked about Hort. 491. It is offered in the spring and
is a one credit hour class that grows plants for the Hort. show in the spring.
If anyone is interested Elaine Trueblood and Jess Ponsford can answer any questions
you may have. We will also discuss this class more at future meetings.
The next meeting will be October 25, 2006 at 7p.m in the head house. We will
be having our annual Halloween party. There will be pumpkin carving and a costume
contest.
