The Purdue Horticulture Club meet at 7:00 P.M. on October 25,
2006 in the greenhouse. The foragers provided beef stew and Halloween treats.
The club’s annual Halloween Party was held, we carved pumpkins and had
a costume contest. Old and New business was discussed.
For old business we discussed the Sweetest Day Rose Sale. We will be presenting
our profits of $750 to Riley Children’s Hospital. We also talked about
Hort. 491, there will be a sign up sheet available to those who are interested.
For new business we talked about helping out Mary Lou in the horticulture gardens.
On November 19 we will be digging up perennials and moving them, there will
be more information available at the next meeting including a sign up sheet.
On November 19 the club will be volunteering at LUM to cook dinner. Members
will be needed to cook, serve, and clean up. A sign up sheet will be available
at the next meeting. It was also announced that Dr. Orvis will be volunteering
to help out with the club in place of Dr. Joly, she will be attending our November
1st meeting. The club has received a donation of three cases of Easter Lilies.
We will be potting then up and growing them to sell in the spring as a fund
raiser. A MACHS planning meeting has been scheduled for November 8th, an e-mail
will be sent with further information.
The next meeting will be November 1st , 2006 at 7p.m. There will be a presentation
on Bonsai and also the fall trip.
