The Purdue Horticulture Club meet on January 17, 2007 at 7:00
P.M.
in the greenhouse. The foragers provided us with pizza, fruit, and smoothies
to go along with our tropical theme for the club callout. The executive board
members introduced themselves by talking about their favorite Hort. club memory.
President, Mark Watson, talked about what is coming up for the club this semester.
Old and New business was discussed.
For old business we talked about getting a softball team together for the club,
a sign up sheet was passed around for those who were interested. More information
will follow. There will be a MACHS planning meeting on the 24th at 6:00 p.m.
in Hort. 210.
For new business we talked about the Mortar Board conference that is coming
up on the 27th. It will take place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Those interested
should talk to Mark. Also the school of Ag is looking for volunteers to help
on February 3rd with the annual Ag Fish Fry. If you are interested there will
be a registration form available. A sign up sheet was passed around to anyone
interested in helping out with designing this year’s Hort. Show. We also
discussed the possibility of doing a fundraiser. The club would be selling discount
cards good for businesses in the area. Mark will have some available at the
next meeting so we can begin selling them.
The next meeting will be January 31st , 2007 at 7:00 p.m. We will be having
a terrarium workshop.
