The Purdue Horticulture Society met on February 28, 2007 at
7:00 p.m. in Hort. 117. The secretary report was read by Dana Wynkoop and treasurer’s
report was read by Kristi Sheldon. Kristi reported that the club had $10,241.87.
The foragers put together a taco bar. Whitney Crosslin gave a presentation on
her trip to Holland.
Old business was discussed. We talked about MACHS. There was a sign up sheet
for anyone who is willing to help out. We will be stuffing the goody bags on
Wednesday March 7 at 4:30 p.m. in the Hort. building. Fundraiser cards and money
were collected. If you still have a card or money please turn them into Mark
as soon as possible. The club also voted to do a service project at the Chapel
of the Good Shepherd. We will be landscaping the church and planting material
that is leftover from the Hort. show. The grand alternative event the club had
decided to participate in will be April 20th from 6-9 p.m. in the potting room.
The club will host a terrarium workshop.
New business was discussed. We talked about Professor Kim Wilson offering to
host a Photoshop workshop some evening if anyone is interested in learning the
program. We can set up a time if there is a group of members interested in participating.
Mark also informed us of some job opportunities one is at Martin Landscape in
Cedar Lake, IN and the other is a local family that is looking to have some
landscape designing done that their home. If anyone is interested please contact
Mark.
The club will be having a bowling night on Tuesday March 6th from 6-8 p.m. Members
will need to pay shoe rental which is $1.25 The next meeting will be on March
21st at 7 p.m. We will be deciding on a spring t-shirt design so bring your
ideas.
