The Purdue Horticulture Society met on April 4, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in Hort. 117.
The secretary report was read by Dana Wynkoop. We went over last minute details
for Hort. show and discussed year end elections.
Old business was discussed. The service project will take place on Saturday
April 28th. We will be installing a landscape design at Good Shepard Church;
we will be using donated plants leftover from Hort. Show. There will be more
details at the next meeting. The end of the year cookout will take place on
Saturday April 21st at Happy Hollow Park. It will be from 1-6 p.m. The club
will provide steaks the club will be responsible for the side dishes. There
will be a sign up sheet at the next meeting. T-shirts may be picked up on Friday
by the hort. show set up. There will be a cookout on Friday for all those who
worked on the Hort. show all week. The Grand Alternative event will be on Friday
April 20th from 6-9 p.m. in the potting room. There will be a sign up sheet
at the next meeting for anyone willing to help out with the workshop.
New business was discussed. Scholarship nominations for the outstanding club
member are due by 5 p.m. on April 16th to Dr. Dana. They may be e-mailed and
more than one member may be nominated at a time. We will vote at the next meeting
for the winner of the award. The next meeting will be elections for next year’s
officers. If you are interested be sure to show up, if there are any questions
about what each office entails refer to the club constitution.
The next meeting will be on April 18th at 7 p.m. We will be electing next year’s
club officers.
