Mercedes Mick is an graduate of the horticultural science program in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Purdue. Mercedes joined the Mitchell lab in spring of 2004. Mercedes is working on ALS crop production and cultivar selection. Specifically, she is experimenting with novel sweetpotato cultivation methods. She is also researching and growing a variety of strawberry cultivars to determine the best strawberry types for an ALSS. In addition, Mercedes is the lab organizer!
Mercedes is currently pursuing a degree in respiratory therapy at Ivy Tech after realizing a long interest in medicine.
