Gioia Massa is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Purdue. Gioia joined the Mitchell lab in the summer of 2003. Prior to this Gioia completed her PhD in the Gilroy lab at Penn State, researching the interaction of touch and gravity in plant roots. In the Mitchell lab, Gioia is involved with the various research projects as well as web design. Her primary focus is on design, testing, and modification of the novel LED lighting arrays.
Gioia has also created the lab web page and after work spends her time doing pottery, salsa, and scottish country dancing.
