Cary Mitchell is a Professor in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Purdue and is Director of the ALS NSCORT. Cary has been at Purdue since 1972 and has taught and academically mentored countless students. He has advised 34 graduate students, postdocs and technicians, and well over 50 undergraduate research assistants within his lab. He has worked in the areas of Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) and has been involved with NASA's research in the areas of Space Biology and Advanced Life Support (ALS) since the beginnings of these programs.
In addition to long involvement with the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) ASHS, he is a founding member of The American Society for Gravitational and Space Biology (ASGSB) . Link to Cary Mitchell's HLA page.
