Availability of nutrients is one of the major limiting factors in crop production. Molecular mechanisms regulating nutrient acquisition are not very clear. Our research goal is to study molecular mechanisms involved in nutrient acquisition, transport and utilization. We are also interested in understanding how plants perceive and respond to phosphorus deficiency in the rhizosphere.
