Rob Eddy joined the Department of HLA in January 1998 as Plant Growth Facilities Manager of the world-class facility brought on-line in March of that year. Rob has a B.S. in Horticulture Business Management and a M.S. in Horticulture, both from Purdue. His work experience includes four years as greenhouse manager for the Richmond State Hospital in Richmond, IN where he provided vocational training for individuals with chronic mental illness. Prior to accepting his current position, he managed the research greenhouses at DowAgrosciences in Indianapolis where his research emphasis was in optimizing greenhouse production of agronomic crops and in simulating outdoor environments using computerized greenhouse and growth chambers. He has nine publications as senior or contributing author on research in chemical plant growth regulation and training individuals with disabilities, as well as several peer-reviewed internal reports for DowAgrosciences. He has designed and taught adult education courses in introductory gardening and an internal training course for research technicians in plant biology. He has attended several workshops on people development and supervision and has as a personal mission to develop a customer focused greenhouse team that will compliment the technology of the facility.
