SPRING IS HERE!! and with Spring comes the tornado season. Tornado procedures are posted on the bulletin board on the 2nd floor of the Hort Building. If you are not familiar with these procedures, you might want to check them out.

Gyung-Hye Huh has joined Mike Hasegawa's lab as a postdoc. Dr. Huh is a member of the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology.

Randy Woodson received $5,000 from Yoder Brothers, Inc. to support research of flower crop transformation.

TRAVEL/PRESENTATIONS

Bruce Bordelon was in Bloomington, IN February 28-March 2 for the Indiana Grape Wine Symposium where he gave a talk on "New cultivars for Indiana" (complete with wine tasting) on February 28 and a Grape Growing Workshop and Vineyard Tour on March 2.

Bruce Bordelon was in Rockville, IN March 11 to give a talk on Small Fruits as Alternative Crops for Indiana. Also attending and presenting a talk was Liz Maynard.

Bruce Bordelon was in Ft. Wayne, IN March 12 to give a talk on Small Fruits as Alternative Crops for Indiana. Jim Simon also attended and presented a talk.

Bruce Bordelon was in Indianapolis March 13 to present a lecture on "Winemaking Begins in the Vineyard" to a Continuing Education class called "Wines of Indiana" at Marian College.

Ray Bressan was in Ft. Collins, CO March 22-30 to present a seminar and meet with collaborator to plan a textbook.

Kent Schuette was in Chicago, IL March 19 for a Center for Community and Environmental design lecture and alumni gathering.

Kent Schuette was in Chicago, IL March 22 to participate in Northerly Island Design Charette.
