Darrel Daniels has accepted a position as Technical Service Representative in the Crop Protection Chemicals Department with American Cyanamid. His last day in the Horticulture Department is February 28. Darrel and Kim will be relocating to Lansing, Michigan where Darrel will begin his new position on March 1. We wish Darrel and Kim all the best!

Peter Goldsbrough has received a 1997 International Travel Grant in the amount of $848 for participation in"Molecular Biology of Plants Under Environmental Stress" to be held in Poznan, Poland, September 17-19, 1997.

Making Slides

There are two ways to drop off files to be made into slides:

1. From a Macintosh, select AppleShare in the Chooser, and then in the list on the right, choose "SlideMaker". In the dialog that appears, click on Guest. The only choice of volumes is "Slides to Make". Leave your files there.

2. From a PC, or any remote machine with internet access, FTP to slidemaker.hort.purdue.edu Login as anonymous and use your name as the password. Transfer your files to the default directory.

-When you leave files on the slidemaker, please send me email
gerdes@hort.purdue.edu
so that I will know to shoot your slides.

-Slides can be made from PICT files, TIFF files, ScrapBook files, and PowerPoint files.
