Mike Dana was selected as the Outstanding Horticulture Counselor for 1996-97.
Ed Ashworth was nominated by students as Horticulture Teacher of the Year. This is the second year in a row that students have indicated Ed is the best teacher in the Horticulture program.
Rob Sovinski was selected as the Outstanding Teacher in the Landscape Architecture program for 1996-97.
Greg Pierceall was selected as the 1996-97 Outstanding Counselor in the Landscape Architecture program.
Kathy Jerger and Eric Biddinger were selected as co-recipients of the Purdue Horticultural Society Les Hafen Outstanding Senior in Horticulture Award. Kathy and Eric will each receive $250 each for this award.
Mike Hasegawa received $50,000 from the Consortium Plant Biotechnology Research, Inc. to support a project entitled "Optimizing a genetic transformation system to increase energy biomass of sorghum".
Don Molnar received $500 from PC Pitts to support LA computer programs.
Jim Simon received $35,000 from Ball Seed Company in support of his vegetable research program.
Randy Woodson received $5,000 from Yoder Brothers, Inc. in support of his Value-Added Biotechnology project.
