FACULTY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT PLANT BIOCHEMICAL AND MOLECULAR GENETICS

invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant
or Associate Professor level.
Duties: The successful candidate will establish a vigorous,
externally-funded and internationally recognized, state-of-the-art
research program utilizing functional genomics and quantitative
genetic approaches to understand fundamental principles underlying
the biology of plants. Preference will be given to candidates who
use interdisciplinary approaches, including molecular and cellular
biology, biochemistry, and natural variation and population genetics
applied within an evolutionary and environmental context. Research
with implications for improvement of horticultural crops is desirable.
This position is one of several new hires with this focus across
departments at Purdue. This is an academic year position with a
primary research appointment and a secondary teaching appointment.
The individual would be a member of the graduate faculty, expected
to mentor graduate students and participate in teaching at the undergraduate
and graduate levels.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in genetics, biochemistry, molecular
and cellular biology or related areas, with evidence of high-quality
research required. Post-doctoral experience in an appropriate discipline
and teaching experience desired.
Salary: Commensurate with training and professional experience.
The position is an academic year appointment (10-month) with an
excellent fringe benefits package that includes TIAA-CREF retirement
