Course Description:

An overview of the biology and production technology for small fruit crops with emphasis on strawberries, brambles, blueberries and grapes.

Exams and Assignments:  There will be one exam worth 200 points.  The exam will be comprehensive, covering all material from the lectures and handouts.  A copy of the recommended text is on Reserve in the Life Sciences Library (Lilly Hall).  There will be two take home assignments each worth 25 points.

 

Field Trip: The class will take a field trip to the Meigs Memorial Horticulture Research Farm and the Horticultural Research Farm to give students an opportunity to see plantings of various small fruit crops. These field trips will require the full class period, so the van will leave promptly at the beginning of the class period. Any student not ‘on time’ will be left behind.

 

Attendance: Attendance in class and participation in discussion is an important part of the learning process. Class attendance will be worth 5 points per class.
