HORT 413 Tree Fruit Production
Instructor: Dr. Peter Hirst
Email: hirst@purdue.edu
Office: Hort 317

My primary objective in this course is to help students understand some of the principles and practices of modern tree fruit production. During the 10 class sessions we have for this course, we cannot possibly hope to cover all tree fruit crops, or all the details involved in the production of these crops. But by understanding the principles involved, you should be well placed to apply your knowledge and be able to find the necessary information to formulate a reasonable solution to any problem.
Lectures: Tuesday, Thursday, 12.00 noon, Room 210 HORT
Office hours: I do not have specific office hours but you can drop by my office anytime or send me an email. Email is the best way to set up an appointment.
Evaluation of student performance in this class will be based upon attendance and participation in class, four reviews of assigned papers, and the grades earned in a mid-term and a final exam.
