Notes:

Harvested about the same time as Obsession was BSS 0977 from Syngenta, a standard sh2 with Bt gene. Both this and the earlier variety BSS 0966 had good emergence and good early season vigor. This variety is notable for resistance to all 3 races of common rust tested at U of I.

Resistant to common rust, including all 3 races tested at UI (Rp). Moderate reaction to SW (5) and very susceptible to MDM. Moderately resistant to NLB (2).

Plants over 6 ft. tall with few tillers and ears 2 to 2.5 ft. above the ground. Good early vigor. Comments from field: very tall.
