Rutabaga - Root

Rutabagas are grown for their large, globe-shaped root. The root can reach up to 6 inches in diameter and weigh as much as 6 pounds.

Rutabagas can have a somewhat woody appearance and range in color from white to yellow, purple to tan. The flesh of the root is yellow or white with yellow-flesh cultivars being the most popular.
